Clay's End Time Class

I just had the pleasure of sitting through an incredible class concerning eschatology and return of our LORD and King. By the way, eschaton simply means last or end. It's a Greek word. The suffix -ology or -logy refers to a branch of knowledge. Eschatology is the study of the things that must happen before, during, and immediately after Jesus returns to the planet.

My greatest surprise after setting aside a significant period of time studying the End Times is the amount of detail given in the Bible. People at the house of prayer have spent a great deal of time and compiled a list of 150 chapters pertaining to the End Times. This resource has been a valuable one as I have embarked in this adventure to search out the Great and Terrible Day of the LORD. I desire to have some understanding concerning the day that Jesus says is in his heart. (Isa 63.4)

The class was led by Mr. Clay Edwards, and he taught us for about six hours. I enjoyed every minute of it. This man has been in the context of the place of prayer, worship, and intercession while studying the content concerning the Messiah's second advent for years. I am so very blessed to be in this environment. During the time, we addressed false assumptions related to the end times, had and opportunity for questions and answers, and created a basic outline involving Daniel 9, Matthew 24, and events from the book of Revelation that include but are not limited to the seals, trumpets, bowls, abomination of desolation, New Jerusalem, and Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the city of the great king, where He will dwell. (Revelation 6-21) I really liked the class.

Bonus: Now, I know that some of you are End Times experts, so I ask that you identify this eschatological symbol and provide its interpretation.

Return

17"And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers did also. 18"But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.

19"Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, 21whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.

~Acts 3.17-21~

This passage really touched my heart a few nights ago when I was in the Prayer Room during the 4am set. While reading these verses, I was gripped with a deep longing for Jesus to return. As I read through the verses, my heart was stirred to intercede. I cried out the the LORD would give my generation a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus that would no longer act out ignorance.

My heart yearned for them to encounter the uncreated God in the beauty of his holiness. I asked for my generation to delight in the fear of the LORD. With deep desire, I prayed for them to repent, to turn, to be made clean.

I look forward to the day when my faith becomes sight. I know that revival is coming. The Bride will be without spot or wrinkle. Israel will say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD."

The time after that is the hope that stirs me to pray. I am eager to experience the time of refreshing that comes from the Presence of the Lord, and my greatest desire is that Jesus would return and rule the earth from His everlasting kingdom in Jerusalem, the city of the great king.

Quotes

Clay Edwards

Stuart Greaves

Clay Edwards is the director of my internship, and Stuart Greaves leads the night watch. I value both of these men and their place of leadership in my life at this time, so I have decided to include a few quotes from my times with them.

"You can't be more valuable before heaven than I am."

~Clay~

"If God likes you, what business do you have not liking yourself?"

~Clay~

"Would you accept the fact that you're broken, my grace is sufficient, get your eyes off your navel, and let us see where I take you."

~Something God spoke to Stuart~

"My apostles are nerdy."

~Stuart~

"I say things with humor to make the medicine go down. Most of my humor is novacaine."

~Stuart~

"I don't even believe in the concept of pursuing your calling."

The interns respond, "What do you believe in?"

"Pursuing the LORD with all your heart, if you're called to Africa, Africa will come to you."

~Stuart Greaves~

This last line has been resounding within me I have been singing during the night.

The Sunrise does prophesy

My Beloved's return

While the night remains

I will prophesy

My Beloved's return

~Clay Edwards~

Silver

Grr . . . technical difficulties

Internet at the apartments is really sketchy, and I am having problems with formatting errors when I try to post videos and pictures. Grr.

But I do want to give you a good update soon. I'm in a swirl of emotions, thoughts, and plans, but I'm not going to let you in on them until I have a few things ironed out.

If you want to send me a letter, a package,a candy bar, or ramen

It's coming

Hello everyone,

I am sitting in the prayer room, and it is 6am. I'm ready to go to bed, but I feel that I must give you a bit of news. I am enjoying my classes. If you have the deluxe prayer room subscription, you can go back and listen to my prayer during the 12:00-2:00am intercession set. It is still crazy to think that people from Asia, Africa, Europe, and Australia may have been joining in agreement with my prayer. I really like being able to pray with the singers and musicians. When an entire room is singing in agreement with your prayer, it feels extraordinary.

I think that my next update should be the most exciting one thus far.

Blessings,
Nathan

A typical day in the life of an FITN intern

I've been at the house of prayer for a week now, and I think it's about time that you learn what a typical day in the life that I will be living for the next three months looks like.

It is 2:30 P.M., and my alarm has been going off for about ten minutes, so I sluggishly roll out of bed and wonder why I am waking up earlier than my roommates. After showering and grabbing all neccessary items for the day (Bible, notebook, FITN binder, and my name tag), I leave Herrnhut Apartments and head to the International House of Prayer Missions Base for some breakfast.

While I'm making my way to "The Corridor" where all of the interns eat breakfast between 1:00 PM and 4:30PM, I stop by the bookstore and purchase an official IHOP Camelbak water bottle which has proven to be useful, but my mother would not approve of the amount of money invested into this wonderful device.

After eating breakfast, I head back to the apartments and talk with one of the other interns. It's fascinating to hear their stories. The people are from all over the nation. I love hearing the story of how they encountered the LORD throughout their lives and discovering why they have decided to spend nearly $2000 to come sit in a room for six hours a day, skip a few meals, and stay up all night. You would like these people.

At 5:30 PM, I jump on a shuttle bus to get to Forerunner Christian Fellowship, similar to a church meeting, at the Forerunner School of Ministry building. I'll be worshiping and receiving teaching here for the next couple of hours. I'll go through the notes a few tim
es after I leave in order to begin to get a grasp on the attributes of Jesus that were taught as Mike spoke to us. (I have a set of notes that has over 150 scripture references.)

My dinner is served in "The Corridor" at 9:00 PM. During this track, they have implemented a finger print scanner into the process of us receiving food. Meals are very good in comparison to most cafeteria food. (The lamb stuffed pitas with the tzatziki sauce served alongside lentils and rice were most excellent.)

10:00PM rolls around, and I head into class with Mr. Clay Edwards. It will take about ten minutes of him teacing about the meekness and the sermon on the mount for me like his cowboy boots have smashed all of my toes and that he had punched me in the face. In the midst of seeing my shortcomings in these classes, I begin to notice something else. It seems that these times lead me to behold Jesus. When I leave the class and head into the prayer room, I will possibly spend hours contemplating the beauty, lovingkindness, patience, humility, and meekness of the man Christ Jesus. (I have found that I enjoying calling him Yeshua HaMashiach when I talk to Him during the late hours of the night.)

Class ends around 11:50, and I run straight into the Prayer Room. After meeting with my core leaders and roommates for about 15 minutes, we set out spend our next sitting before the LORD beholding Him and reminding Him of His great promises.

When 6:00 AM rolls around, my day has ended. Interns scurry back to their apartments because curfiew is at 6:30, and I do my best get to sleep before the sun rises.

Blessings,

Silver

Roommates

The time has come. I have arrived in Kansas City, MO. It's time for you to get to know my roommates. They are Matthew, Jesse, Brandon, and James. We are all Track II interns in the Fire in the Night internship at the International House of Prayer.

We will be living, eating, praying, serving, and attending class together for the next three months. They seem to be a really great bunch of guys.
I ask you to pray for this that we would grow together as we pursue the LORD and His purposes for our lives. I hope that we will push each other to strive for all the God has for us during this season.

New Beginnings

This blog will be my feeble attempt to keep everyone updated on happenings during my time in Kansas City, MO. I look forward to my attempts to articulate what the LORD will be doing in my heart for the next several months.
